While Covid has really put a damper on our opportunities to reunite, we have decided that we must come back with a splash!! A group of your favorite Gators are organizing The 1st Annual UF Black Alumni and Friends Cruise.

What: Reunion  

When: September 1-5, 2022 (Labor Day Weekend)

Where: Port of Miami, Carnival Sunrise

Why: Honestly, it's just been too long since we’ve gathered. 

 

Details for group booking:

  • What is the deposit to secure a room?
    a $150 deposit per person secures booking;$ 50 can be placed as an “I’m interested” hold which can be transferred to a room upon receiving the $150 per person. 

  • Are deposits refundable?
    All deposits are refundable up until June 2022

  • What if I can't find a roommate?
    Upon receiving weekly booking confirmations, discussion can be opened to other guests seeking a roommate.

  • Are one person rooms available?
    All rooms are priced based on double occupancy.

  • How many people can be in a room?
    All rooms are based on double occupancy with a max of 5 persons per room

  • Do I have to be vaccinated?
    Carnival Cruise Line’s “Have Fun. Be Safe” protocols ask that all guests have received their final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to sailing day and have proof of vaccination. Vaccine exemptions for cruises to the caribbean will be limited to a very small number of children, teens and adults with a medical condition who can provide written confirmation from their medical provider that they cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons. 
    The CDC requires pre-cruise testing for vaccinated guests to be taken within two days prior to the sailing date.

  • Do I need a passport?
    All closed loop cruises (meaning your trip begins and ends at a US port) do not need a proof of passport, but require a boarding pass, government photo ID, and certified birth certificate).

  • What should I pack?
    An itinerary will be provided at minimum 60 days in advance for suggested attire for themed events.

  • Who do I give my money to for excursions?
    All bookings for excursions will go directly through the designated company. No affiliate of the cruise will handle any funds.

  • Is there a drink package?
    Drink packages can be added directly through Carnival cruise lines at the time of booking.

  • How much is the trip?
    Guest rooms begin at a rate of $714.38 (based on double occupancy).

  • How do I book?
    All reservations can be confirmed via a link which will be posted later this month.

  • Did I have to attend UF to come on the trip?
    All Gators and Gator Bait are welcome.
